Dida's Devonport Wine Lounge & Tapas
Still in its infancy and yet already roaring along, Dida's Wine Lounge in Devonport is located in the front of the majestic, and majestically restored Victoria Theatre on Devonport's main street. As with its older sibling across the water, the Lounge offers an exquisite selection of small plates, tapas to tempt you to have a glass of something different, from a winelist and menu that makes the most of our prodigious produce and wine cellar resources. Local and imported foods hook up with domestic and international wines in an environment that is so convivial you'll be hard pressed to make that last ferry. Weekend days are as lively as the endless evenings, or grab a drink and a plate pre or post a movie in a setting that is, itself, truly a work of art.

Tapa means 'cover'. The first tapa was a slice of ham served on top of a Sherry glass, reportedly to keep out the flies, and thus the tradition was born. Today, every region in Spain has its own special versions of the tapa. |

Tapas are small portions of food served both hot and cold, and are generally consumed within a social setting. They are more than savoury appetisers; they represent, in their social context, both a style of eating and a way of life and with their versatility, create a wonderful complement to Dida's numerous wine offers. |
